  • Marvel at the golden mosaics in one of the most spectacular Islamic buildings in the world, the Omayyad mosque in Damascus.

  • Tread in the footsteps of St Paul and descend the stone steps to the church of Ananias, where once, it is believed lived the man who cured Saul ( St Paul) of his blindness.

  • Absorb the atmosphere of long ago Crusader and Moslem battles at Saladin’s Castle and enjoy breakfast overlooking this magnificently sited building.

  • Explore Palmyra – its magnificent temple, funerary towers, theatre and colonnaded street.
  • Take the opportunity to ride a camel through Palmyra’s ruins and have a camel-back view into the locals’ lush oasis gardens.
  • Clamber up the steps of one of the best preserved Roman theatres in the world at Bosra.
  • Be transported back to Roman times watching a chariot race at the Jerash hippodrome.
