Book With Confidence

Cruise With Confidence Programme
With Silversea’s Cruise with Confidence programme, you can cancel your reservation up to 30 days before your sail date for any reason and receive a 100% Future Cruise Credit.

Covid-19 Protections
Should authorities in a guest’s country of residence prohibit travel or should a guest test positive for COVID-19, the guest will be able to cancel their booking without penalty, paying only an administration fee, or convert their booking into a 100% Future Cruise Credit up to sailing.

Safe, Timely Return Home
Silversea has developed a robust repatriation plan should any guest or crew member fall ill with COVID-19 while on board one of our ships.  We have worked closely with local authorities to ensure that immediate medical attention is provided should the need arise, and have strengthened and upgraded our telemedicine consultations.  Silversea will cover COVID-19 related expenses for onboard medical and repatriation costs.

Healthy Sailing

Along with Silversea, our top priority has always been to safeguard the health and safety of our guests, tour leaders and those in the countries we visit. With the current changing times that we are living in, there are some new protocols when travelling overseas that we need to be aware of.

Vaccinations for All

All embarking crew and guests must have been fully vaccinated prior to sail date in order to board the ship.
This is also a new policy, that we at Tours Direct are also following for all our overseas tours.
Most major airlines flying from  New Zealand, will also require that all passengers be fully vaccinated prior to being allowed to board the aircraft.

Testing for All

All crew and guests will be required to take a COVID-19 test prior to boarding. Only those who test negative will be permitted to board the ship. All guests will undergo pre-embarkation health screening including an enhanced health questionnaire and touchless temperature check.
Guests will also need to comply with local health regulations in the country of embarkation. These could include an additional COVID-19 test (PCR or other) that may be required to enter the country or port of departure.
At this stage, safety requirements for travel are evolving very rapidly. The latest information regarding safety regulations for your voyage will be communicated to you no later than 30 days prior to sailing.

Masks

All guests will be required to wear a mask in all indoor public areas, terminals and during shore excursions. Crew will be wearing masks at all times. Nevertheless, guests will not be required to wear masks while seated in restaurants, at tables in bars, and in outdoor areas in which physical distancing can be maintained.

Verified Shore Excursions

All itineraries have been revised to include only low-risk destinations with approved contingency plans. Guests wishing to go ashore in port will only be allowed to do so with a verified shore excursion party. These verified shore excursions ensure that all Silversea health and safety measures are met, including mandatory testing of all tour guides.

Physical Distancing

Thanks to the intimate size of the ships and the abundance of space, the ships can guarantee physical distancing with only minor reconfigurations to onboard public areas.
Our flexible embarkation procedure will be further relaxed by the implementation of staggered check-in times at various locations on the pier. This will ensure ample space for every guest to embark in comfort and safety.

Sanitation

Extensive cleaning and sanitation measures have been introduced to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are met. These around the clock measures include constant sanitation of public and high-traffic areas. Suites will be disinfected twice daily. Departure terminals will be subject to continual disinfection on all surfaces both before and after embarkation.
Upon embarkation, guests will be provided with a portable sanitisation kit, which will include hospital grade hand sanitiser. Hand sanitising points will be placed in easily accessible and strategic points throughout the ship.

Enhanced Air Filtration

The highest grade of medical air filters (MERV 13 or HPA according to HVAC standards) have been installed on board the ships. On each of the ships, the HVAC systems supply fresh, filtered air from outdoors to all areas. This continual intake of fresh air means old air is replaced, with a full total air change per hour – well above the minimum required.

Medical Facilities & Expert Response

Onboard medical care is stronger than ever, with enlarged teams of doctors and/or nurses on each ship, as well as state-of-the-art equipment enhancements. Additionally, all ships have been appointed with an Infection Control Officer. This person is responsible for ensuring that all enhanced sanitary measures are met.

November, 2022

Thu 10        Athens

A city of legend, civilisation and enduring culture, Athens is a majestic and magical urban sprawl. Extraordinary elegance and grace combine with grit and graft in Greece's capital, where highways encase ruins from antiquity, and gleaming museums and galleries stand beside concrete sprayed with edgy street art.

We board our ship the Silver Spirit and depart the Port of Piraeus at 7.00pm.

Fri 11 Souda Bay, Crete

Enter Souda Bay to land on Greece’s largest island, and explore the sun-soaked charms of this fascinating land of legends, landscapes and luxuries.

Packed with beautiful beaches and rich maritime history, Souda Bay’s huge natural harbour is a spectacular entrance, opening up the treasures of Crete’s many well-stocked museums, rich archaeological sites, and charming Venetian fishing towns.  The island’s most beautiful Venetian port – Chania – is close by, and its picturesque old town and collage of historical influences are a highlight of any trip.

Sat 12 Day at Sea

Days at sea are the perfect opportunity to relax, unwind and catch up with what you’ve been meaning to do. So whether that is going to the gym, visiting the spa, catching up on your reading or simply topping up your tan, these blue sea days are the perfect balance to busy days spent exploring shore side.

Sun 13 Haifa (Nazareth)

At less than 45 kilometres from Nazareth, Haifa is often neglected when it comes to travel experiences. And understandably so, as Nazareth is definitely the superstar of the region. Nazareth Old City is stunning, and the historic sites amazing.

Haifa – the third largest city in Israel after Tel Aviv and Jerusalem – is a mosaic of cultures and faiths, with Jews, Christians, Muslims and Baháʼís all living peacefully side by side. The Baháʼí Gardens, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, are without a doubt the city’s main attraction. Set on the flanks of Mount Carmel and sloping into the Mediterranean Sea, both the gardens and the city offer stunning views.

Mon 14 Haifa (Nazareth)

Another day exploring this region.

Tue 15 Ashdod (Jerusalem)

A city like no other, Jerusalem is a melting pot of traditions, and a place of staggering complexity and immeasurably deep, impactful history.

It’s almost impossible to fully digest Jerusalem’s importance in the scriptures of the world’s largest religions Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and this collision of faiths helps to make it one of the world’s most fascinating locations. The Old City is the focal point for much of the religious reverence, with aged buildings from the world’s major faiths jostling for space, and melodic calls to prayer echoing down tight stone streets. Stroll the walkways to travel between deeply contrasting quarters, where you can sample roughly ripped pita bread, dipped into fresh, flavourful hummus.

A place of unbridled passion and importance – but also extraordinary beauty – it’s easy to get swept away in the raw emotion that Jerusalem generates. Visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which archaeologists believe stands on the site where Jesus was crucified. Inside, emotional worshipers kneel before the stone where his body was wrapped in cloth in preparation for burial. The Wailing Wall is another place where passions run high, as worshipers place their folded messages into the wall’s cracks. Temple Mount’s golden dome glints in the sun nearby, signifying another point of pilgrimage for Jews – and for Muslims,  who believe it is the place where Muhammad ascended to heaven.

Wed 16        Day at Sea

Days at sea are the perfect opportunity to relax, unwind and catch up with what you’ve been meaning to do.

Thu 17         Antalya

Arrival into Antalya is a breathtaking sight. The turquoise waters stretch long and far, fringed by golden sands and a classically beautiful coastline.

The city has changed hands several times, with many archaeological remains proving testament to its past. One such must see is the unmissable Hadrian’s Gate. Built in 130AD to commemorate the visit of Emperor Hadrian to the city, it is the perfect starting point to begin a pleasant stroll through the labyrinthine streets of Kaleiçi (literally, Castle Town), otherwise known as Antalya Old Town. Narrow, cobbled lanes offer a chance to get lost in a bit of Ottoman history, while enjoying a thick, sweet (and very strong) Turkish coffee.

A choice of one of the included Shore Excursions.

Fri 18             Rhodes

With an endless sun-soaked season, earthy history and vibrant culture, the island of Rhodes has it all. At the crossroads between continents, and sandwiched between Crete and Turkey’s coastline, Rhodes has swayed between many mighty civilisations throughout its tumultuous history. Part of the Dodecanese Islands, which are sprinkled across the blissfully blue Aegean Sea, dive into this island of dazzling beaches, historic medieval towns, and whitewash villages. Crusted with turrets and walls, alluding to its strategic significance over the years.

Discover inviting outdoor restaurants, which spill across flower-filled courtyards, and enjoy fresh Greek cuisine with an eastern influence.

A choice of one of the included Shore Excursions.

Sat 19          Kusadasi

Kusadasi welcomes you to the Turkish coastline and is your base for exploring remains of Ephesus which sit just 10 miles inland from the port.

The Ephesus UNESCO World Heritage Site is a true archaeological gold mine, and an amazingly well-preserved site – once home to 150,000 people. The grand Temple of Artemis rose up majestically here and was recognised as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World before its untimely destruction.

A choice of one of the included Shore Excursions.

Sun 20         Mykonos

Indulge in idyllic island life, as you take your fill of superb foods and wines, and soak in endless views of sweeping turquoise seascapes and pretty whitewash buildings. Known for its lively nightlife and rejuvenating, care-free outlook, Mykonos is a dazzlingly beautiful island escape.

True to its roots, Mykonos is a rich land of culture, tradition and swirling legend, and the island is said to be built on the frozen bodies of giants slain by Hercules and to have been the legendary battleground between Zeus and the Titans.

Explore narrow streets housing studios – where artisans piece together mosaics - and plenty of restaurants and bars offer sanctuary.

A choice of one of the included Shore Excursions.

Mon 21 Athens

An early arrival back into the port of Athens, where we disembark the ship and say our goodbyes.
