Remembering Places Together

  • Thank you Mandy. I am enjoying my Bhutanese green tea. Each time I look at my fridge magnet of the Tiger’s Nest Monastery I think of the pilgrimage to it. Looking back it was a wonderful experience. I hear of others who fly into Paro, do the half country round trip, take a horse/mule up to the teahouse and then walk and think they have achieved. I have an interesting comment in reply!
All good with me, in isolation in Palm Nth. but good computer network chats and friends, plus lots of gardening, my garden will never be so good again!
    Take care

  • So many thanks for your kind thoughts. The thought of Georgia and Abzerbaijan is keeping me sane at the moment.

Best wishes to both you and Richard,

  • Many thanks for your message and it is lovely to know that you are thinking of us all and yes, we are all in this together and I am sure if we all do what we are told we will come out the other side safe and sound and have learnt a lot from this very stressful situation. This month will be a good opportunity to give a lot of thought to planning the next trip!

Take care, keep well and keep smiling.

    Regards

    Susan

  • Hi Mandy, All the very best to you and all the team. We look forward one day to travelling with you again. Hoping we all weather the storm. Stay safe.

    Weathering the Storm
  • What a difficult time for you and your staff – it’s a hard time to be in the travel business.

And what a great idea to get out our holiday photos and reminisce – we did the wonderful Camino trip with Stu last year – still have a number of pics not named … so plenty to do over the next few weeks of isolation!

    Many thanks and keep safe

    Maureen

  • Thankyou for your thoughts which are much appreciated and reciprocated. We are in uncertain times.

We have very fond memories of our time with you and described it many times to our friends. We hope you are back on the road soon.

    Caucasus Memories
  • Thankyou Mandy for your mail and I wish the little fern was dripping on our garden here in the driest of Marlborough Autumns. The grape growers are thrilled it is so dry with very cool nights which is perfect for developing the best flavours. Interested to read that Zagreb has an earthquake recently, poor things we know what that feels like but nevertheless sad to see old and unstable buildings topple to the forces of nature. Early in 2000 I travelled through the city of Bam in southern Iran after their 6.6 earthquake which was completely devastating for their mostly mud brick dwellings mosques and the palace. Hopefully Zagreb fared a little better and that the casualty rate was significantly less I heard.

    With kind regards

    😊 Sue

Tour Reviews

  • The itinerary was excellent, allowing us to go places and see things we could not have managed on our own in the time available. At the same time there was some free time to rest or go shopping.

    Russia & the Baltics
  • The itinerary was very comprehensive. The extra things we managed to fit in such as white water rafting and archery were the cherry on the top. There was enough culture fitted in and we were lucky enough to see a dance practice in the Dzong in Punakha.

    Bhutan: East & West
  • We saw and experienced so much and not only the major highlights. All the extras made the tour for me.

    Central Asia
  • Great – really liked that it was a small group, that we travelled almost always in same vehicle with same driver. The game parks etc were all different and contrasting, saw wonderful selection of animals and scenery – all we hoped for and more. Zanzibar was totally different, a great experience, definitely worthwhile

    African Safari
  • A good mix of travel and walking without hopping from one tourist site to the next which allowed us to explore and experience the local character, eg the visits to the ceramic workshops, the delta cruise, the Uros Island/Lake Titicaca experiences, the diversity of La Paz to name a few.

    South America
  • For me personally, excellent. Kept us on our toes, always something different to see round every corner, giving us a great range of experiences. Just enough down time for a quick nap and laundry duty

    Way of St James
  • A very full itinerary which had been meticulously planned. Every day was varied and interesting. Flexibility was appreciated on days when the pace got a bit too much.

    Walking in Japan
  • Wow, such a great tour – I loved being so close to the birds and animals. Highly recommend.
